South Oxford Community Centre

Covid-19 and the Community Centre

What will be open?
The office will be open for you to make enquiries about activities able to start, make future bookings and to find out about membership and the benefits.
The Toilets will be available for each bookable room in that immediate area, this is to ensure that there is no need to move around the Centre. We ask that visitors take extra care to maintain social distancing and cleanliness. Cleaning will take place regularly so please expect brief periods of closure though this will continue to be done during the change over of bookings. The 2 disabled toilets in the main building will be available for visitor and staff use, these will be cleaned at regular intervals.
Our Community Café will not be opening for the time being and will continue on Zoom.
Only 3 of the rooms will be available for hire. The Main Hall, the Brenda Horwood room and the Gill Garratt room. Rooms 2, 3 and the Dojo will not be opened yet. As we are limited to what activities we can host please contact the office for more information.

How do we book a place?
As our Community groups start back they will be on a booked basis only to keep numbers regulated. These include:
Art classes, Watercolour pencil workshop and sketchbook workshop
Stitch and Chat.
For more information on days and times and how to book and pay for your place contact the office on 01865 242666 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

User groups will start back as the guidelines allow, contact them directly for more information.

How do we enter the building?
On arrival, please come to the Main entrance for entry to the Office, Main hall and the Brenda Horwood room. Entry to the Gill Garratt room will be by the double white doors on the side of the building
What safety measures do you have in place?
When you arrive, you will be asked to go directly to the room you are using and not to go to other parts of the Centre. We ask that you only use the facilities only for that room. We kindly ask that you follow the direction of signage and practice current social distancing measures. The Centre has been deep cleaned and sanitising stations will be available throughout the building where there is no access to hot water, for your use.
Do we need to wear face-covering?
Face-coverings are mandatory from 8th August from when you enter the Community Centre to when you leave.
Can I still help the Centre at this time?
We have limited activities going on but if you would like to volunteer in the future contact the office for more information.
